Awareness Walks


Net proceeds from the Out of the Darkness Community walks benefit the American Foundation for SuicidePrevention (AFSP), the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide. The annual Stomp Out Stigma – Walk for Mental Health is held in May in conjunction with National Mental Health Month. Planned collaboratively with and sponsored by local mental health service providers, the annual event strives to raise awareness that the stigma associated with mental illness is one of the greatest barriers that keeps people from seeking help.

The stigma associated with mental illness is one of the greatest barriers that prevent people from seeking help. This walk not only strives to raise awareness but encourages people to be mentally fit. All proceeds from this event benefit our Live Laugh Love Educating Youth about Mental Health and be nice.
